Sidewalk Paint!!!

I found this FABULOUS idea from another blog I follow called Play At Home Mom. It is a group of Moms, one of which used to be a teacher. They have some freaking AWESOME FUN ideas. You have to be willing to get messy. I successfully pushed my OCD away today with Cameron (the little girl I nanny) and we got messy!!!!

You can make sidewalk paint with equal parts of water and corn starch and food coloring. I did 1 1/4 cups corn starch and 1 1/4 cup water. I used both gel food coloring and liquid food coloring. If you want a more variety of colors, gels are awesome.

LOOK HOW COOL IT TURNED OUT!!!
Of course it gets on EVERY thing. Our hands, our pants, our feet, in our hair, on our face. The dog even got some of the art. :)
I noticed it dries very quickly, which is awesome. But it certain spots of the cement it dried super fast and other parts it is still drying.
Also when it dries, it turns dusty like chalk. So once the patio/driveway is covered all you ned to do is spray it down with the hose and VOILA, new canvas. It also comes off clothes and skin with just water. So easy clean up.
Don't worry if it gets thick and goopy. That is the cornstarch just settling in the water, just give it a good stir and you are ready to go!! :)
Of course, most kids will paint themselves with the paint too! Great sensory project. If it was warmer out, we would be in our swimsuits!!
