A rainy, windy Sunday

So yesterday (St. Patricks Day) we went into downtown Carlsbad and went to just 2 bars. The first bar we went to was Henessy's Irish Pub. Which was fun but SO PACKED. They had a HUGE tent out back with a live band. Not an Irish band, a reggae band. Pretty typical for Southern California. Tons of hippies out here. It was pretty fun but it was SO cold and the beer was SO expensive. $6.50 for a draft Coors Light. Not okay. Then we ended up walking to Boar's Cross'n (another bar). $3 Bud Lights was more my style. We stayed there for a while. Then it started getting really busy so, we left around 10 pm or so. Ahryon and I went grocery shopping then headed home.

Today we went out to eat at Tip Top Meats. They have a super awes

ome deli and restaurant. It is a European Deli and grocery store. They have a ton of fun Euro food and candy and meat and stuff. And we found some weird stuff there. Beef's tongue, sweet bread (not what you think), whole frozen pigs, ostrich, cow brains, cow hearts, liver, kidneys and pheasant. I know pheasant isn't that weird, but it was CRAZY expensive. A whole pheasant for $40. My dad and my brother bring home like 20 pheasants from hunting. Sweet bread we found out is neck, throat and gullet of an animal. It was calves sweet bread. Of course Ahryon had to get it. He's weird, he also had half a rabbit for lunch. They also had ton's of cheeses, chocolates, candies, mustards, wines and beers. And a yummy pastry counter.

Yup the photo above is of the whole frozen pig. Ew. And all the cheeses. Yum!!!

Well I have corned beef cooking on the stove right now. Only 2 hours left to cook!! Yum!!! Super excited. We bought another corned beef round at Tip Top Meats, and I am gonna make that later this week again. I love corned beef sandwiches. I bought some pumpernickel bread to make sandwiches with, so yummy. I used it for toast this morning. It was goooood.
